Asthma
This is a complex illness, children sometimes present with just coughing or recurrent episodes of wheezing to hospitals and doctors. Treating and maintaining this treatment changes a child's life drastically and improves their quality of life and growth.
Constipation
Tummy pain and poor eating is poorly understood - this condition is easily treated with the right advice and input and years of frustration is resolved within less than 3 months with the correct treatment - I have successfully treated this .
Failure to gain weight
This is a well known concern of most parents. Seeing a specialist who can explain, take a history and help with your concerns is very important to your child's well being - I am happy to help here.
Coughs and colds
Every parent is concerned about this and seeing a doctor does allay your worries. I am happy to see your child and help you to understand why, when , how and how long the symptoms will last.
Rashes
Many childhood diseases have bacterial or viral causes and may come with a rash - eczema is also a common reason for rashes - if you are concerned its always important to see a doctor.
Growth and development monitoring
Childhood surveillance is important for all children. I would love to be you child’s Paediatrician.
Bed wetting
Bladder training and lifestyle changes. I have treated children into there teens with success- if further referral is needed I am able to do this as well.
Vaccinations
I vaccinate children according to the UK, US and Canadian schedules. I am also able to advise and give your child travel vaccinations - advance notice is needed for special vaccines. I am also able to give a child the single measles vaccine after consent and counselling as I have this available.
Lumps and bumps
Parents are always concerned about lumps and bumps and rightly so - my training in Haematology and Oncology has helped me to allay your worries and direct investigations appropriately if need be.
Eczema
Dry, itchy, sensitive, inflamed skin is common in the UK - seeing a Paediatrician is your first step to treatment - if your child’s skin is not responding to treatment a Paediatric Dermatology referral will be offered.
Urinary tract infection
This is very common in a ll children - being treated in a timely manner is very important. Children with burning urine or frequent visits to the toilet, should be checked for this.
Colicky
Some babies may be colicky and difficult to settle - however seeing a health professional to exclude other issues is important.
Baby allergies
Skin rashes, nasal congestion, and digestive problems (constipation and diarrhoea) also blood in stools may be seen in babies with allergies.
Gastroesophagael reflux disease
Frequent or recurrent vomiting, persistent cough or wheezing - or simply being unsettled may point to a baby with “heartburn".
Headaches
Are becoming more common in children due to technology, but also very long school days - let me help you with this.
Tiredness
May be as simple as a deficiency of a vitamin or iron - or something else - it is important to see an appropriate health professional.

All investigations, blood tests, X-rays will be done at the Portland Hospital or Harley Street clinic. Please note, there will be a separate charge from the Hospital for all of these.
Please note that the standard appointment time is 30 min, if this appointment time is extended by you for some reason, an additional charge will apply. Please note, insurance companies have an agreed fee schedule arranged with Dr Mahomed, however your insurance company may not cover Dr Mahomed's entire consultation fee and/or the investigation fee. Please discuss this with Dr Mahomed and your insurance company.
Before your appointment
Please arrive 15 minutes before your appointment time, in order to complete a registration form for your consultation. We request you bring any relevant medical records, blood test results, scan results (scans and X-rays on discs), letters from other doctors, immunisation cards or red books, notes, medical letters or anything else you may think is important that you would like to share with me. Please also come with questions written down if you have any.
Timings for your diary
Your appointment as a new patient will last 30 minutes. More complex medical issues may need a 45 minute consultation (an extra charge will apply).
Investigations and referrals
All investigations, blood tests, X-rays will be done at the Portland Hospital which has excellent established children services, nurses and equipment. All investigations including blood tests, scans and swabs charges are separate from the above fee, and will be charged by the hospital/ clinic the Doctor consults you at.
Follow up and communication
Follow up appointments will be offered to all children who need this, letters will be sent to parents and your GP within 2 weeks of your appointment.
Non attendance at appointment
Please can you notify us of a cancellation at least 24 hours in advance. If you do not advice us you will not attend a 50% fee of full charge will apply.
