Paediatric services

Children's health
services

I treat children of all ages upto the age of 18 years of age with Paediatric medical issues this includes (but not only these):

Asthma

This is a complex illness, children sometimes present with just coughing or recurrent episodes of wheezing to hospitals and doctors. Treating and maintaining this treatment changes a child's life drastically and improves their quality of life and growth.

Constipation

Tummy pain and poor eating is poorly understood - this condition is easily treated with the right advice and input and years of frustration is resolved within less than 3 months with the correct treatment - I have successfully treated this .

Failure to gain weight

This is a well known concern of most parents. Seeing a specialist who can explain, take a history and help with your concerns is very important to your child's well being - I am happy to help here.

Coughs and colds

Every parent is concerned about this and seeing a doctor does allay your worries. I am happy to see your child and help you to understand why, when , how and how long the symptoms will last.

Rashes

Many childhood diseases have bacterial or viral causes and may come with a rash - eczema is also a common reason for rashes - if you are concerned its always important to see a doctor.

Growth and development monitoring

Childhood surveillance is important for all children. I would love to be you child’s Paediatrician.

Bed wetting

Bladder training and lifestyle changes. I have treated children into there teens with success- if further referral is needed I am able to do this as well.

Vaccinations

I vaccinate children according to the UK, US and Canadian schedules. I am also able to advise and give your child travel vaccinations - advance notice is needed for special vaccines. I am also able to give a child the single measles vaccine after consent and counselling as I have this available.

Lumps and bumps

Parents are always concerned about lumps and bumps and rightly so - my training in Haematology and Oncology has helped me to allay your worries and direct investigations appropriately if need be.

Eczema

Dry, itchy, sensitive, inflamed skin is common in the UK - seeing a Paediatrician is your first step to treatment - if your child’s skin is not responding to treatment a Paediatric Dermatology referral will be offered.

Urinary tract infection

This is very common in a ll children - being treated in a timely manner is very important. Children with burning urine or frequent visits to the toilet, should be checked for this.

Colicky

Some babies may be colicky and difficult to settle - however seeing a health professional to exclude other issues is important.

Baby allergies

Skin rashes, nasal congestion, and digestive problems (constipation and diarrhoea) also blood in stools may be seen in babies with allergies.

Gastroesophagael reflux disease

Frequent or recurrent vomiting, persistent cough or wheezing - or simply being unsettled may point to a baby with “heartburn".

Headaches

Are becoming more common in children due to technology, but also very long school days - let me help you with this.

Tiredness

May be as simple as a deficiency of a vitamin or iron - or something else - it is important to see an appropriate health professional.
